I apologize for the delay in reports but it has been one of those seasons! Fishing has been hot from inshore to offshore and everything in between.
Fluke and Sea Bass have stayed consistent along the shorelines of Newport as well as some excellent topwater bass action. Block island has had its moments of head scratching but when it has been on its been awesome! Tuna have started to make their way off the cape and while the little guys showed themselves minimally off Block, they were taken on some trolling gear as reported by other captains.
Best bet: Early morning or later evening for bass along Newport. Fluke and Sea Bass can be taken throughout the day pretty regular although Sea Bass have reigned supreme in numbers! Larger stripers are off Block and evening trips have been ideal.
Fly fishing has picked up with the emergence of some smaller baits along the shorelines. When the winds lay down, it has been a very productive type of fishing!
Hopefully I will get some updated reports sooner rather than later but feel free to email me or call to book a trip. I will be laying low on the social media aspect so we can prevent the occasional stalker from following us around on the water!
